If you join the email list
Signing up through a form on this site, or by giving an Instagram chatbot your address, stores: your email address, a status (active, unsubscribed, or suppressed), the source you first arrived from, any tags describing what you signed up for, a short attribution string from the link you clicked, and your Instagram username if you came that way.
The source is written once, on your first signup, and never overwritten.
What's recorded about emails
For each email I send you I store whether it was delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, or marked as spam. Links in emails pass through a redirect on this domain so a click can be counted. That's used to see whether the emails work and to stop sending to addresses that bounce — nothing else.
If you submit a problem to a challenge
Your submission is stored privately and is read only by me. It's never published, and your name or email is never shown on this site.
An email address on that form is kept only so I can reply. It does not join the mailing list unless you separately tick the box that says so.
Website analytics
I count page views and a small number of funnel steps — a page view, a button click, a form submission. These records contain no email address, no name, and nothing you typed. Where a privacy-first analytics service is enabled, it is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not fingerprint you.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare — hosting, the database the above is stored in, the bot check on forms, and analytics.
- Resend — sends the email and reports delivery back.
- Meta / Instagram and ManyChat — only if you reached me through an Instagram DM, in which case their own policies cover that conversation.
Nobody else. Your address is not sold, rented, or shared for anyone else's marketing.
How long it's kept
While you're subscribed, plus a record that you unsubscribed so I don't accidentally email you again. Addresses that hard-bounce or report spam are suppressed permanently, which is the point of keeping them.
Getting out
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe in the footer and in your mail client's own header. No confirmation step, no "are you sure".
To have your data deleted outright rather than just unsubscribed, message me and say so — it's a short job and I'll confirm when it's done.

DM @benny.bytes on Instagram, or reply to any email you've had from me. Both reach me directly.
Changes
If this page changes materially I'll update the date at the top. This page describes what the site actually does today; if you spot something here that doesn't match what you've experienced, tell me, because that would be a bug.
